What makes an apple picked at the peak of the fall harvest even better? Silky smooth and sweet caramel apple sauce of course! This caramel apple sauce is not only a great apple condiment, but also delish on ice cream, french toast and brownies. Be mindful as you make this recipe that when you add the butter to the melted sugar and then the cream it will boil up violently.

There are a few tricks to making this sauce. Be sure to stir constantly. Once the sugar melts completely, immediately add the butter and stir to fully incorporate, 2 to 3 minutes. After the butter has fully incorporated add the heavy cream and let boil for 1 minute. Be sure to cool down for at least 10 minutes before handling.

Make this a special gift for the teachers in your life, put the sauce in a mini mason jar and slide in to the bottom of cellophane bag, place an apple on top and tie it up with ribbon!
